Surfland-Pacific Shores Inc.
Annual Meeting
Second Saturday in June
June 08, 2024 from 2:00 to 4:00
South Beach Community Center
3024 SE Ferry Slip Road
South Beach, Oregon

2024 Weeds & Wood Cleanup Day, August 31st, 9am -3pm
A dumpster will be provided and parked by the Surfland “circle”/amenity (on Jill Shaffer’s
property – Thanks Jill for letting us use this space for this weekend!). Homeowners can use this
dumpster to get rid of any of their properties vegetation and ivies. No junk, no food scraps are allowed.
Volunteers are encouraged to get rid of any ivy growing on their property and also help other
neighbors with this if the homeowner needs help with ivy removal. The English Ivy is incredibly invasive and kills trees and other ground cover. Also planned is the clean-up of the trail leading to the beach from Surfland street. This work can be done but requires volunteers. Bring a shovel or clipper or two.
2024 Surfland Beach Social, September 8th. 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
All are welcome and encouraged to bring a side dish to share. The beach committee usually grills fish
and provides wine, beer, soft drinks, water or BYOB. Trash cans will be provided. So bring a blanket and/or a lawn chair. We look forward to seeing you there.

Our Woodland and Ocean Neighbors
Part of the beauty of living at the coast and along side the Siuslaw National Forest is that we share the environment with deer, black bear, coyotes, cougars, raccoon, and other local natives. In order to minimize up close and personal encounters with these usually nocturnal neighbors we encourage folks to keep trash in a
contained area when possbile, avoid bird feeders, and feed domestic pets indoors.

Members and guests must "stay far away"
from Seal Pups resting on the beach. Mother Seals will often feed for
hours at a time. When they return, if dogs or people are near the pups' moms won't approach
and in some cases may abandon thier offspring. If you see pup's on the beach please keep dogs leashed.
